What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the use of very thin metallic needles to stimulate different points on the body to produce a therapeutic effect. There are different types of acupuncture that practitioners are trained in. Our Naturopathic Doctors/Acupuncturists are trained in Traditional Chinese acupuncture which has been practiced in China for thousands of years.

Acupuncture Can Be Used To Treat A Variety Of Health Concerns And To Maintain Wellness.

Acupuncture can be used for the following treatments:

Pain Management - acupuncture is most commonly known for its use in pain management.  Some of the things it can be used for include: back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, painful periods, headaches and migraines.

Fertility Support - acupuncture is commonly used to help individuals struggling with infertility.  It can be used in conjunction with other fertility treatments including medications, IUIs and IVFs or for women trying to get pregnant naturally.

Stress management - for most people, acupuncture is a relaxing experience when done in a calm environment.  This is something we continually strive to create in our clinic so that people will see the importance of taking time to relax in their lives.  This is especially helpful for people that are anxious, suffering from insomnia or just feeling worn out.

Smoking cessation - for people that are ready to quit smoking acupuncture can help to facilitate that process.  This would typically involve a series of treatments that are done once the individual has stopped smoking to minimize withdrawal symptoms and enhance overall success.
